2. Redskins must get better pressure on Dak Prescott

In the first game against Dallas, the Redskins’ defensive front did not generate much pressure on Prescott, minus a nice Daron Payne play early to force an interception. On the day, he got sacked just once and hit twice more. Because the pass rush was unable to affect Prescott, he was able to go through his progressions and completed almost every throw he attempted, finishing 26 of 30 for 269 yards and three touchdowns.

Prescott is also an excellent runner, so the Redskins cannot let him get outside the ends or step up when rushing him. Prescott rushed for 69 yards on just five attempts in Week 2. Maintaining proper rush lanes will be pivotal against Prescott this time. They can’t allow him to escape. The Redskins sacked Daniel Jones just once last week, and him having time in the pocket was a big reason why Jones threw five touchdowns. They must do better.

If the Washington defensive front can put the kind of pressure on Prescott that they weren’t able to in Week 2, it will help immensely. If they are unable to get home again, expect Prescott to have another monster day.
