The Washington Redskins will close out a disappointing season against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a full preview for the contest.

Coming into the season, the Washington Redskins front office thought that they’d be playing for something big at the end of the season. And, in fact, they are.

The Redskins are in control of the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft right now. They control their own destiny regarding that selection, and if they lose to the Cowboys, they will clinch it.

Of course, that’s not what the front office had in mind coming into the season. But it is the reality of what the 2019 Redskins are.

Sitting at 3-12, the ‘Skins have dropped three games in a row including back-to-back games to NFC East opponents in the Eagles and Giants. Now, they’ll take on the Cowboys, who are 7-8 and need to win if they want a chance to make the playoffs.

Because the Cowboys are playing for a playoff spot, the Redskins can be expected to play hard. They will try to knock their longtime rival out of the postseason, even if it means sacrificing the No. 2 pick. That’s not ideal for Redskins fans but the reality is that if the team is motivated to play, they will stand a chance of winning.

Here’s an in-depth look at the Redskins final game of the decade and the matchups to watch as they close out yet another disappointing season.
