The Washington Redskins couldn’t quite beat the New York Giants in Week 16. Here’s a look at three takeaways from the game.

The Washington Redskins lost to the New York Giants. They fell by a score of 41-35 as a late comeback took the G-men to overtime. Unfortunately, the Redskins didn’t get the ball in that period as the Giants drove for the game-winning touchdown.

Of course, some may view this fortunately, as the loss gives the Redskins a higher draft pick in 2020. They’ve been very competitive within the division in recent weeks — at least of offense — so that’s a plus. They’re competitive, the games have been close, and the team is losing, which may help them more in the immediate future than winning will.

There will always be debate about whether or not losing for a high draft pick helps a team as much as a good win would. But one thing is not debatable. The Redskins are better positioned for the offseason ahead of the final game of the 2020 season. And that is good news.

With all that said, here’s a look at three key takeaways from the Redskins loss to the Giants in NFL Week 16.
