Five bold predictions for Redskins vs. Giants in NFL Week 16
4. Daniel Jones logs over 336 passing yards, two touchdowns
Originally, Eli Manning was a part of these bold predictions, but it has been declared that Daniel Jones will start on Sunday after recovering from a high ankle sprain. So, we’re swapping him in here.
And we’re projecting him for a career-high in passing yards, hence the prediction of him logging 336-plus yards.
Jones has had his share of struggles as a rookie, especially with turnovers, but he has been able to generate yardage against porous secondaries. At the moment, Washington would certainly qualify as one.

The Redskins are severely lacking in the secondary right now. It seems that Quinton Dunbar (hamstring) isn’t going to play in Week 16. And slot corner Jimmy Moreland already went on IR earlier in the week.
In order to avoid playing Josh Norman, it seems likely that the Redskins will opt to play guys like Danny Johnson and Aaron Colvin in expanded roles while their new signees, Kayvon Webster and Coty Sensabaugh, may also be forced into action. So, that could make it easy for Manning to pick on the cornerback group.
Additionally, safety Landon Collins is dealing with an Achilles issue, so he’s no guarantee to play. And if the team holds him out, Montae Nicholson, Jeremy Reaves, and Troy Apke will have to man the position with new signee Maurice Smith providing some extra depth.
If the Redskins are as shorthanded as they appear to be heading into this game, expect Jones to have his best game of the season. Their secondary simply won’t be able to contain the Giants solid receiving corps.
