The Washington Redskins are taking on the New York Giants in NFL Week 16. Here’s a look at five bold predictions for the contest.

The Washington Redskins are playing in their most critical contest for the rest of the season.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that’s right. They’re taking on the New York Giants in a loser-take-all for the higher slot in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Redskins and Giants will be picking very close to one another — if not, back to back — in April, but the team with the higher pick seems likely to have a shot at a truly elite edge rusher like Chase Young.

Of course, there are other very strong prospects that will be available near the top of the draft, so the winner of this game (loser in the draft seedings) will make out just fine. But for a Redskins fan base that really wants an elite talent, Young certainly looks the part.  So, this game will be important from that perspective.

This game also will provide Dwayne Haskins with a chance to get revenge on a Giants team that embarrassed him when he was called upon in relief earlier in the season. Now with multiple starts under his belt, he’ll have a chance to showcase his growth and continue to take steps in the right direction, something that Redskins fans will also like.

All that said, this game could go in any direction. Let’s take a look at some bold predictions ahead of the penultimate game of the Washington football season.
