Redskins studs and duds from Week 15 loss to Philadelphia

Stud No. 3 – Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins
Finally, a week where we don’t have to debate whether Dwayne Haskins showed hints of progression, or whether he’s completely hopeless.
Haskins looked far from hopeless against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and while the Eagles have one of the worst secondaries in the league, Haskins did what he was supposed to do, as a quarterback with first-round pedigree. He produced, and kept his team in the game until the very end.
Haskins ended the game with 19 completions on 28 attempts, 261 yards passing, and two touchdowns, and he could have had even more, if not for drops inflicted by his average supporting cast. He also wasn’t sacked once! It wasn’t just the stats that pointed to an exceptional outing from Haskins. The progression was visible on the field as well.
Haskins looked his smoothest yet this week, and he’s very clearly growing more comfortable with the overall process. We saw better vision and progression work as a passer, and even in other facets of the game, his execution was very thorough, as the clip below shows.
See how Haskins deceives the defender with a fake toss on the option, then, when the lane is clear, tosses is back to Adrian Peterson to expedite a solid gain? It’s this kind of quick thinking and malleability that is enabled by comfort, and with every passing week, Haskins’ comfort level is slowly reaching higher heights. Continuing on this trend, he can end 2019 on a high note, and move into 2020 with clear goals to accomplish.
