The Washington Redskins weren’t quite able to take down the Green Bay Packers but kept it close at Lambeau Field. Here’s are some takeaways from the game.

The Washington Redskins were massive underdogs against the Green Bay Packers in Week 14. They were on the road and taking on one of the NFC’s better teams and were doing so with a rookie quarterback.

Despite these facts, the Redskins were able to keep the game close. It was a one-possession game for most of the afternoon and the Redskins defense once again played solid ball against Aaron Jones and Aaron Rodgers. For that, they deserve some credit.

The loss is frankly fine for the team. They were never going to win the NFC East nor would they make any noise in the playoffs in the remarkable situation where they would. But they stayed competitive with a good team, showed growth, and have some things they can build on moving forward.

The dark clound hanging over this game is the injuries the team suffered. Guys like Ryan Kerrigan, Quinton Dunbar, Derrius Guice, Dwayne Haskins, and others were banged-up in this game. The team needs to hope that none are long-term issues, and they have to make sure they don’t rush anybody back.

With that said, here’s a look at three takeaways from the game.
