3. DL Matt Ioannidis

The Washington Redskins have a well-balanced defensive front and have a number of players with five or more sacks.

But of all their pass rushing talents, Matt Ioannidis has been the best and most consistent so far this season.

Ioannidis, who signed a reasonable extension with the team before the season started, has already matched his career-high in sacks with four games left to play. His mark of 7.5 leads the next closest players by 2.5 and he has been a consistent threat from the interior.

Ioannidis uses his combination of quickness, strength, and athletic ability to rush the passer from the inside. His ability to collapse the pocket is second to none on the Redskins and his performance this year should be enough to put him on the map.

Guys like Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne may draw more of the praise that Ioannidis. But he is every bit as talented as them. And his pass rushing skills should get him a chance to go to the Pro Bowl.

Admittedly, it may be harder to get Ioannidis to the Pro Bowl solely because of the number of talented pass rushers in the NFL. Still, he is tied for 13th in the NFC with 7.5 sacks and his 52 total tackles are a really good number for a defensive tackle. So, he should still get consideration and is certainly deserving of a vote this year.
