Redskins vs. Panthers: Keys to victory in Week 13 of the 2019 season
By Kyle Hundley
1. Redskins’ Dwayne Haskins must make a couple of the throws he missed last week
Dwayne Haskins was close to some big plays last week against the Lions, just missing on a number of throws early. But, with the game on the line and a play needing to be made, Haskins stepped up and made it. On the day, he was just 13 of 29 for 156 yards and one interception.
Once again, Washington will figure to lean heavily on the run this week, so Haskins isn’t going to have to carry the offense as some quarterbacks do. But he is going to need to make a few of those throws he missed last the Lions.
Though Haskins did show an excellent rapport with Terry McLaurin, Haskins had two easy touchdown passes he just missed. That cannot happen against a talented Panthers team.
If Haskins continues his development as a passer and builds upon his first victory as a starter by making the necessary plays this week and connecting on a few more throws, he stands a solid chance at getting his second consecutive win.
