Stud: The Dwayne Haskins/Terry McLaurin connection

The Washington Redskins only saw two players get more than two targets on Sunday afternoon. One was Kelvin Harmon. The rookie receiver saw six targets and did well to make a tough one-handed catch during the contest.

The other was Terry McLaurin. How many targets did the Ohio State rookie get?

Twelve. He saw 12 targets and managed to catch five of them for 72 yards. It was a nice outing for McLaurin and it demonstrated that chemistry that he has with his college teammate, Dwayne Haskins.

The chemistry the two had also came up big late in the game. With the Redskins nearing field goal range and having a chance to tie the game, the ‘Skins needed one big play to make the try for Dustin Hopkins easier. Haskins elected to target McLaurin on the play and hit him with a perfect, accurate ball that was in a place that only McLaurin could get. He was able to reel it in and he seemingly knew exactly where he would be and where the ball would be.

Moving forward, this connection should have a big impact on the Redskins. If McLaurin and Haskins can continue to improve and sync up more like they did in college, these types of games will become both more common and more prolific.
