The Redskins face off against the Carolina Panthers tomorrow, but until that game commences, we have time to look back on the Lions game, and what we learned in that contest.

The Washington Redskins 19-16 victory against the Detroit Lions in Week 12 wasn’t necessarily pretty; they left a lot of plays on the field on offense, and the Lions offense gave them more than enough opportunities to keep the game from going down to the wire.

All that said, there were still plenty of positives to take away from the Lions, notably when focusing on the Redskins young core. On offense, Dwayne Haskins continued to show promising signs in his individual development, and on defense, several budding contributors saw their efforts culminate in career outings.

When looking at the raw stats, Sunday’s game against the Lions wasn’t a game to be happy about.  But looking past the stats, how did the Redskins young players fare, and what signs were there to promote optimism surrounding their continued growth? That’s the subject of our latest podcast, recapping the Lions game one last time as we head into Week 13!

This week, I was joined by Riggo’s Rag contributor Ken Johannesen, and we went over a number of different topics, spanning from Dwayne Haskins and his unheralded mental progression, to Haskins’ selfie-gate after the Lions game, to Fabian Moreau’s breakout game, and Cole Holcomb as well, among other topics. A quick warning: You may think your phone is going off repeatedly, but it was actually mine going crazy during the recording session.
