Redskins vs. Lions: Keys to victory in Week 12 of the 2019 season
By Kyle Hundley
2. Redskins must have a big game from Terry McLaurin
Dwayne Haskins had a rough second start against the Jets. But he did show a glimpse of what he can offer in the big play department with a 67-yard bomb to Terry McLaurin (which was nullified because of a penalty) as the two continued to showcase the chemistry they displayed at Ohio State. McLaurin still finished as the leading receiver with three receptions for 69 yards.
The Redskins must have more of the Haskins to McLaurin combo this weekend. McLaurin hasn’t scored in four straight games. Even though they have some talent in the secondary, Detroit is still one of the worst teams in the league against the pass. He should be looking to break the touchdown drought against the Lions.
If Haskins is able to find McLaurin and get him into the endzone, it will go a long way toward a Redskins win Sunday.
