829. . Wide Receiver. Crimson Tide . Henry Ruggs III. 7. player

Jerry Jeudy gets more love than his counterpart at Alabama, but Henry Ruggs III has been steadily rising up the draft boards this season. Why, you ask? Well, because Ruggs has a rare kind of speed, one that will be especially coveted in a modernizing NFL.

Ruggs isn’t nearly as developed with his route running as Jeudy is (no one is, really), but Ruggs has the speed to separate, literally and figuratively, from Jeudy, as well as just about any collegiate defensive back.

It’s very possible that Ruggs runs in the early 4.2’s at the NFL Combine. His speed is on par with the Marquise Brown’s and the John Ross’s of the world, and it’s that kind of speed that can be devastating weapon, for an offense that knows how to use it.

The Redskins need a suitable offensive play caller if they want to be able to use Ruggs’ speed to its maximum potential. So let’s get that deal-breaker out of the way first. But looking at traits alone, imagine an offense with Dwayne Haskins, Derrius Guice, Terry McLaurin, and Henry Ruggs III. It’s fun to think about. Speed and athleticism for days. Speed is one thing that can make Haskins’ job easier, and Ruggs has it, more than anyone else.
