It’s hard to be bold when writing for a team that struggles to score 10 points on a weekly basis. But the Redskins might break that trend soon.

Last week, the Washington Redskins lost to the New York Jets by a score of 34-17. Many expected the Redskins to compete with the Jets, so the 17-point margin of defeat was a widespread disappointment. But it wasn’t the whole story; in fact, it diluted flashes of growth seen from the Redskins’ young offensive trio.

Dwayne Haskins, Derrius Guice, and Terry McLaurin all showed growth against the New York Jets, and this week, they’ll look to carry that over into their matchup with the 3-6-1 Detroit Lions. Getting bold is still a trepidatious affair, but we can start to take the training wheels off.
