Figure out which players are coming to play

The most disappointing thing about the Redskins’ Week 11 game against the Jets wasn’t that they lost. It was more about the way that they lost.

They were blown out by a team that many thought they’d have a chance to beat. At home. After a bye week. It was an embarrassing look for the team and for some of the players.

In the contest, certain members of the Redskins didn’t seem to be giving it their all. It looked like they were just mailing it in and that they may have quit on a lost season. It’s understandable to be disappointed by the results of the season, but it’s unacceptable for the team’s players and coaches to put forth the effort they did in Week 11.

Week 12 will be all about scouting the effort of the Redskins. Who shows up to play and who doesn’t could go a long way to helping the ‘Skins decide who stays and goes in the offseason. Some players simply may need a change of scenery while other young guys could emerge as future leaders if they bring their A-game and effort.

We’ll soon get a glimpse at who actually cares and who doesn’t. That may end up being one of the most important aspects of Sunday’s game as the ‘Skins continue to take a long look at themselves and try to figure out what needs to change (which may well be everything at this point).
