5. Redskins must limit Jamison Crowder

A familiar face returns to FedEx Field this weekend in former Redskins receiver Jamison Crowder. After being drafted by the ‘Skins in 2015, Crowder signed with the Jets in the offseason. Washington did not make a concerted effort to re-sign him, and he ended up signing a three-year contract for $28.5 million. So you can expect Crowder to be extra motivated this Sunday to prove they were wrong in letting him walk.

After a slow start to the season, Crowder has been coming on the last couple of games. After an eight-catch, 83-yard game in which he caught a touchdown against the Dolphins, he followed that up with another eight-catch game for 81 yards and a touchdown against the Giants. He has shown that he can be a go-to receiver for Sam Darnold on an offense lacking elite weapons.

The Redskins’ secondary knows first hand just how shifty and tough to cover he can be. They must be ready to lock him up. Make Robby Anderson beat them. Quinton Dunbar must step up after a down game against the Bills. If the secondary fails to bottle him up, and Crowder gets loose against his former team in his revenge game, the ‘Skins will have a tough time stopping the Jets’ offense.
