4. Redskins must force two Sam Darnold turnovers

This game against the Jets is the second game in a row in which Haskins will face off against another potential franchise quarterback. After being selected third overall last year, Sam Darnold has not quite taken the sophomore leap that many thought he was going to this year.

Darnold has struggled with turnovers since coming into the league. After throwing 15 interceptions as a rookie, he has nine in six games this season, though seven came in a two-game stretch against New England and Jacksonville. He has done a much better job of protecting the football recently and has played better in the last couple of weeks as a result.

The Redskins secondary must be ready to take advantage of the young signal caller. Greg Manusky has been on the hot seat all season. He must call an excellent defensive game and give Darnold some new looks and blitzes that he hasn’t seen before. The defensive line must get solid pressure as well to force some early throws or even a fumble. If the ‘Skins can get their hands on a couple of Darnold passes or a fumble and win the turnover battle, they stand an excellent chance on Sunday.
