4. Redskins turn Sam Darnold over three times

The New York Jets offense has been up-and-down this season with Sam Darnold in the lineup. And part of that has been due to Darnold’s struggles against pressure.

Since their Monday night loss to the New England Patriots when Darnold was “seeing ghosts”, the Jets have only been effective when they haven’t allowed pressure. Against the Giants last week, they did well to protect Darnold, and that’s part of why they were able to do so well.

Against the Redskins, things will be more difficult.

The Redskins have a strong pass rush that will get to Darnold. And when Darnold is under pressure, he tends to make a lot of mistakes and throw a lot of interceptions. Additionally, he could be strip-sacked if the Redskins get blindside pressure on him (more on that later) so he could allow a few turnovers on Sunday — if the team’s pass rush can live up to their talent.

All told, I think they will. The ‘Skins should figure out a way to rattle Darnold and get pressure on him. And once they do that, they’ll be able to force some turnovers. If they get three, that should help them to stay competitive in the contest.
