Redskins goals for their Week 11 clash with the New York Jets
Break the touchdown drought
This one is obvious. The Redskins are on a pitiful streak of 13 quarters without a touchdown. Not just an offensive touchdown. Any type of touchdown.
That’s pretty pitiful.
While the Redskins were never expected to be very good on offense this season, it doesn’t excuse them going more than three weeks between touchdowns. The last time they scored one came against the lowly Dolphins, too.
The Jets just recently lost to the Dolphins, so they’re among the NFL’s worst teams at the moment. That should inspire some hope that the Redskins will be able to score on them. Their secondary isn’t very good, and if Dwayne Haskins continues to improve and throws better in his second start, the ‘Skins could break through with their first touchdown early on.
Maybe Adrian Peterson will come through with a rushing touchdown early. Or maybe Haskins will find his collegiate teammate Terry McLaurin for a touchdown. But either way, their main goal has to be to break this awful touchdown drought.
