The Washington Redskins played solidly despite their loss to the Buffalo Bills. Here are a few standouts from the game.

The Redskins are entering their bye week at 1-8 after a 24-9 loss to the Bills in Week 9. While that final scoreline may be ugly, the game wasn’t quite as bad as the score indicates.

For most of the contest, the Redskins were able to keep things close with the Bills. They were only separated by one score for much of the second half (until the Bills’ game-clinching drive with a couple of minutes left). Sure, the Washington offense was only okay and couldn’t finish their drives. But at least they moved the ball.

And as for the defense, they were mostly stout against an offense that, while not being a world-beater, had been solid to start the season. They only really broke down at the end of the game when they were gassed by a long Bills drive.

Overall, this game was a decent one for the ‘Skins. The result wasn’t good and by no means is entering the bye at 1-8 a good thing. But at least they showed some signs of life in this game. And in particular, these three players stood out for Washington.
