1. The Reality Is, Kirk Cousins has been the best quarterback in football over the last 3 weeks.

By any respected metric, Cousins has had the best 3-game stretch of any quarterback this season and is playing at an elite level. He’s thrown for 10 touchdowns and only 1 interception over the last three weeks while compiling over a 75 percent completion rate and averaging a QB rating of just under 140. His team is, meanwhile, 5-2 on the season and primed to battle Green Bay for the NFC North title.

Kirk Cousins, for the first time since his incredible run to end the 2015 season in Washington, is legitimately in the NFL MVP discussion.

My Prediction: Cousins doesn’t win the MVP, but puts up good enough numbers to remain on the fringe of the conversation throughout the season.

2. The Reality Is, Case Keenum is one of the worst starting quarterbacks in football.

Even with all of the injuries to starting quarterbacks forcing backups into duty this season, Case Keenum remains in the bottom-10 in almost every statistical category this season. His accuracy has been horrendous. His mobility has been nearly non-existent. He’s failed to execute in key spots, missing deep shots, fumbling on a QB sneak, and taking sacks in inopportune moments.

Keenum has been everything Cousins gets associated with from his time here in Washington…but without the bright spots and occasional excellence. Outside of one fantastic half against Philadelphia, Keenum has been, simply, bad in a Redskins uniform, and has kept the starting job by default because of the inexperience of Haskins and the ineffectiveness of Colt McCoy when healthy.

My Prediction: Keenum’s return to Minnesota produces a game more similar to his time as a Bronco than his time as a Viking.
