3. Redskins must limit George Kittle

In the last couple of seasons, the ‘Skins have had trouble covering tight ends. That trend has continued this season as Washington has continued to struggle with covering athletic, pass-catching tight ends. This week, they face arguably the best tight end in the league in George Kittle.

A second-team all-pro last season, he is a serious matchup problem for Washington. Kittle has the speed to run away from Cole Holcomb, who has had trouble in coverage so far this season, and Jon Bostic when in the middle of the field. He also has the size to provide problems for Landon Collins and Montae Nicholson. It is going to take an excellent defensive plan on Greg Manusky’s part to limit the impact of Kittle in this game.

Kyle Shanahan is a very sharp offensive mind and will be looking for ways to get his best playmaker the football. They do not have a legit number one receiver the way some other teams do. If the Redskins can limit George Kittle and make someone else beat them, that will help immensely in their upset bid on Sunday.
