1. Redskins must have another big game out of Adrian Peterson

It was expected that with the promotion of Bill Callahan, there was going to be a strong commitment to the running game and getting Adrian Peterson into a rhythm. To no ones surprise, the Redskins ran it a lot, and Peterson had a monster day as he got into a rhythm for the first time this season, finishing with 118 yards on 23 carries. As a team, they ran it 33 times for 145 yards.

They’re going to need more of that as they play a talented 49ers’ front seven. Currently, the 49ers have given up just 436 rushing yards through five games, an average of 87.2 yards per game, which is sixth-best in the league. They’ve invested in the defensive line the last couple of years through the draft and trades, and they are now reaping their reward. They currently have five first-rounders who can all wreak havoc inside the interior.

The Redskins offensive line played well last week. They are going to need to have another strong performance and open up some holes for Peterson to get through. Peterson must find his rhythm and keep a balance on offense. If AP cannot get going, the Redskins offense is going to struggle as they figure to rely heavily on the run.
