The Washington Redskins are coming off a win but are playing one of the best teams in the league in the San Francisco 49ers. These should be their goals for the game.

Last week, the Redskins were able to get the monkey off their back and finally earned their first win of the season. That said, the 17-16 win over the Miami Dolphins in which the team nearly blew a 17-3 fourth-quarter lead to the league’s worst team wasn’t exactly encouraging.

Redskins fans will be looking for a more encouraging performance in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers. Of course, that may not entail a win. The 49ers are one of the two unbeaten teams remaining in the NFL and they just beat the Los Angeles Rams convincingly. They could make trouble for the Redskins’ offense if the team’s passing game can’t get going.

Still, if the Redskins fight hard against San Francisco and avoid big mistakes, there may be some good that comes out of this one. The 49ers are talented, so some of the team’s young talent could improve. And if they play well, they could get a boost of confidence even if they’re not victorious.

With that said, here’s a look at what the Redskins goals for Week 7 should be. If they can at least progress in these areas, they will be in decent shape regardless of the result.
