Here are the biggest takeaways from Bill Callahan’s first press conference as the Redskins interim head coach.

Out with Jay Gruden, in with Bill Callahan. Five games into his sixth year in Washington, Gruden has been canned and the veteran Callahan will have a chance to be a head coach for the first time since 2003.

Callahan takes over a team in turmoil, one that desperately needs to find a direction. So there were some key questions ahead of his first press conference as the team’s interim head coach. Would the ‘Skins start looking toward the future and develop their young quarterback? What are the plans for the coaching staff moving forward? Will there be changes on either side of the ball and if so, what will they be?

Callahan was able to answer most of the glaring questions that face the Redskins. And in his press conference, he discussed many key topics ahead of the game against the Miami Dolphins. That said, here’s a look at the biggest takeaways from Callahan’s introductory presser and the state of the Redskins moving forward.
