The Washington Redskins were blown out by the New England Patriots, but they still had some positive moments, especially in the first half. Here are our takeaways from the game.

The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Washington Redskins. It was a blow out like many expected, with the Patriots winning by a final score of 33-7.

However, the actual performance of the team wasn’t quite as bad as expected. There were some real bright spots for the Redskins in the first half. They tailed off badly in the second half, a trend that we’ve seen throughout the season, but they weren’t completely humiliated by one of the better teams in the league. So, that’s at least a start.

The Redskins still aren’t a good team. They still don’t figure to be competitive against many teams this year. That said, their performance against the Patriots had some encouraging moments. There were some discouraging ones as well, but overall, the day went about as expected — if not, slightly better thanks to the first half.

Here are our takeaways from the Redskins’ loss to the Patriots.
