No. 4 – Redskins must get Chris Thompson around 15 touches

The last couple of weeks, the running game has not looked great with Adrian Peterson as the lead back; not all of it his fault though, as the offensive line has not played well. Three games into the season, the Redskins’ rushing offense has actually looked the best when Chris Thompson has been in the game.

Underused up to this point, Thompson had his best game of the season against the Bears as he had 108 total yards on just 11 touches. Thompson had four receptions for 79 yards, including a nice 33-yard gain off a screen, and seven carries for 29 yards. He should be looking to get more touches this game.

The Giants have a couple of young linebackers in Lorenzo Carter and Ryan Connelly that Thompson can take advantage of in the passing game. He is one of the best receiving backs in the league and a mismatch against linebackers. The Redskins must get Thompson more involved this game and get him around 15 touches rushing and receiving if they want to win.
