No. 2 – Redskins limit Evan Engram

As a rookie quarterback, there are certain things that one can fall back on while learning the position such as a great defense and strong running game. Another one of those is a reliable, playmaking tight end. The Giants have one of those in third-year tight end Evan Engram, who showed a great rapport with Jones in their first game together.

Engram finished with six receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown as he had his second 100-yard game in three weeks. He is starting to emerge as a legit go-to option. And, with Odell Beckham getting traded this offseason, plus Barkley being out, he and Sterling Shepard are now the Giants two best weapons. They should see a majority of the targets this game. The secondary must be ready for them.

For a while, the Redskins have had trouble covering tight ends. Jon Bostic has not looked great in coverage so far this year, and while Cole Holcomb can run, that’s a tough matchup for a rookie linebacker. Greg Manusky, who’s on the hot seat after the way the defense has looked so far, must find a way to limit Engram. If he doesn’t, and Engram has another big game, the ‘Skins are going to have another long day.
