4. Paul Richardson posts his first 100-yard game as a Redskin

Paul Richardson was a big-time free agent acquisition for the Redskins during the 2018 offseason. After struggling with injuries during his first full year with the team, he has returned and been a solid weapon for them during the 2019 campaign. And last week, he posted one of the best stat lines of his career.

Against the Bears, Richardson caught eight passes for 83 yards and found the endzone for the second week in a row. Granted, a lot of his production came because the Redskins were playing from behind, but the point still stands that he has looked good and fluid so far this season. And that is giving him a chance to live up to the five-year, $40 million contract he signed to come to Washington.

Richardson is getting a favorable matchup in Week 4 against the Giants. Their secondary has been atrocious so far this season and their best player back there is a washed-up Janoris Jenkins. Richardson could have a chance to battle with him during the game and if Jenkins continues to struggle, Richardson could put up big numbers.

The big factor that could impact Richardson is the health of Terry McLaurin. The third-round rookie out of Ohio State has been a revelation so far this season, but he showed up on the injury report with a hamstring issue during practice this week. If he can’t go or isn’t 100 percent, Richardson may see more targets and could do a lot with them.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Richardson post his first 100-yard receiving game, and second overall of his career, against the Giants. He simply has a lot going for him in a quality matchup so this could be a breakout game for him as he continues to help power the surprisingly strong Washington receiving corps.
