1. Adrian Peterson rushes for 150 yards, three touchdowns

We’ve seen Adrian Peterson doubted before. Remember when he came off a torn ACL and nearly broke the NFL’s single-season rushing record? Or when he was traded from the New Orleans Saints to the Arizona Cardinals and put forth a massive game? Or when he joined the Redskins last season after being “washed up” and still totaled over 1,000 yards and was generally effective?

Well, now the 34-year-old is getting another chance to prove his doubters wrong.

Peterson was inactive for the season opener against the Eagles in what seemed like a short-sighted move by head coach Jay Gruden. With Peterson out, Derrius Guice struggled to get going and ultimately ended up suffering a meniscus injury. Now, Peterson is back to lead-back duty. And safe to say, he’ll be running angry against the Cowboys.

Dallas was just gashed by Saquon Barkley for nearly 11 yards per carry. Peterson may not be at the same level that Barkley is right now, but Peterson is still a future Hall of Famer and will be well-rested and ready to prove himself. He’ll want to be fed early and often, and that’s part of the reason that the Redskins could have a chance to keep this competitive early.

Overall, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Peterson key the Redskins’ offense. He could rush for 150 yards and score three times if the team isn’t reluctant to give him a lot of carries. Peterson would certainly take pride in that stat line as he looks to prove Gruden wrong for ever considering benching him.
