No. 4 – Jeremy Reaves leads the team in total tackles

Jeremy Reaves has had a very solid 2019 preseason. He’s currently tied for the team lead over three games with 13 tackles, and he’s been a fairly reliable safety blanket against second and third team units.

That said, Reaves still needs to do more to either earn a No. 5 safety spot or force an incumbent backup out of a job. For now, neither possibility seems likely, but if there’s anything Reaves has been so far this preseason, it’s opportunistic.

Reaves led the Redskins in tackles in the first preseason game, when he needed to establish himself as a legitimate roster threat. Now, with his time to make an impact dwindling, and with the reps all his at safety, he’ll once again rise to the occasion, and give the Redskins a very tough decision to mull over.
