The Washington Redskins just wrapped up their third preseason game which means that many of their top position battles are about to be decided. Here’s a look at the likely winners of each key battle.

The NFL preseason isn’t over yet, but the important part for top-billed players certainly is. With Week 3 of the 2019 NFL preseason in the book for the Washington Redskins, they are likely done with the significant evaluation of their starters. They have most likely decided on the key position battles from this year’s camp and preseason, and they will focus on roster battles in the fourth and final week of the preseason.

The difference between a position battle and a roster battle is that often a position battle results in the winner being given an important role for the team. A roster battle is more about the players that get the depth spots on the squad. So, for example, the receiving corps is still engaged in a roster battle, so there won’t be a lot of answers about them until after the fourth week of the preseason.

Still, for the position battles, the Redskins have gotten enough reps to make some key decisions. And Week 3 of the preseason gave us a glimpse at what exactly they view their starting lineups on both sides of the ball to be (though a couple of injuries could muddy the waters at certain positions).

That said, here’s a look at the likely winners of the Redskins’ top position battles after their clash with the Falcons. And we’ll start with the most important position of all, quarterback.
