Stock Down – Redskins WR Darvin Kidsy

As I wrote a few slides ago, Kidsy’s performance paled in comparison to that of Robert Davis against the Bengals. Davis was electric, and he capitalized on his opportunities when called upon. For Kidsy, those opportunities never came, and while that may not be entirely his fault, perhaps he could have done more to bring them his way.

This doesn’t mean that Kidsy is out of the battle, but when a receiver’s stock rises, another receiver has to see his stock fall. That’s the nature of the Redskins receiver battle this year. It’s close, it’s heavily contested, and it can be brutal.

Kidsy’s uneventful night was a stark contrast to his standout performance in Week 1. But he can come back and reinforce his position in Week 3 against the Falcons. The third preseason game is often the dress rehearsal for Jay Gruden’s Redskins, so it’ll be telling to see who, out of Robert Davis and Darvin Kidsy, sees the first snaps.
