Stud: Adrian Peterson

The Redskins probably didn’t need to have Peterson hit the field in this contest. But, they decided to have him suit up to get in a little bit of preseason work. And the legend looked as good as ever.

On his first preseason carry, Peterson made a beautiful play that saw him gain 26 yards on a first-down carry. At the line of scrimmage, Peterson was able to see a hole open and he ran to it. Once he was there, he made another quick cut to bounce it outside and find even more space.

Peterson used solid burst to keep moving down the field and continued to cut and use his feet to separate from the defenders. By the time he was hit, he had already run nearly 25 yards without being touched.

Peterson simply has elite vision and is terrific at finding space. With Derrius Guice still not cleared to play and another back failing to live up to expectations (more on that later), Peterson’s performance will become even more critical for the Redskins in 2019. But if he can continue to look this good, albeit in limited action, the team should be in good shape at the running back position.
