The Washington Redskins were much better in their second preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. They fell short in their efforts, but here are the studs and duds from the game.

The Redskins and the Bengals were tied at 13 heading into the fourth quarter. But at that point in the game, the tide had already turned against the ‘Skins. Washington’s offense wasn’t able to move the ball much in the second half and despite a solid performance in the first half, the Bengals were able to emerge victoriously.

The Cincinnati victory pushes the Redskins to 0-2 in the preseason. But as is always the case, the results in the preseason don’t matter. The 23-13 loss comes second to the development that the Redskins showed.

Though the team was marred by poor officiating and lack of depth on the offensive line and in the middle of the defense, the Redskins stayed competitive versus Cincinnati. They saw some young players improve while the veterans they mixed in also added to the squad’s performance. In short, this team looked a lot better than the one they fielded last week. It still has holes, but at least they can stay competitive.

In the contest, the Redskins had several standouts. Some were good and some were bad. And there were even some standouts that weren’t on either team. Here’s a look at the biggest Redskins standouts from the second week of the 2019 preseason.
