Redskins rookie rundown: How has the 2019 class performed so far?
By Ian Cummings
Naturally, there’ll be a lot of attention on the Redskins 2019 rookie draft picks in the coming weeks.
The Washington Redskins 2019 NFL Draft class was graded very highly across the nation, with some dubbing the class the best of the NFL. It’s a testament to the work of college scouting director Kyle Smith and his team, but the work isn’t done yet. They’ve added the talented prospects. Now they need to make it work.
Making it work is easier said than done, and it takes a very long time; much longer than one training camp session. But we can gauge the progress that’s been made thus far, and determine whether players are progressing at the adequate pace, or whether there’s more to be done. In the coming slides, we’ll take a look at the Redskins rookies, and how they’ve progressed thus far.
A disclaimer first: Bryce Love has been on the reserve list for the entirety of training camp, so his progress will not be documented. It’s unclear how long he could be unavailable, but missing games in the regular season seems to be a possibility.
