2019 NFL Supplemental Draft: Date, time, players available, and how it works
Recent history of the NFL Supplemental Draft
Since 2009, only eight players have been selected in the supplemental draft. They are as follows:
- DE Jeremy Jarmon, Redskins (Round 3 in 2009)
- FB Harvey Unga, Bears (Round 7 in 2010)
- DT Josh Brent, Cowboys (Round 7 in 2010)
- QB/WR Terrelle Pryor, Raiders (Round 3 in 2011)
- WR Josh Gordon, Browns (Round 2 in 2012)
- OT Isaiah Battle, Rams (Round 5 in 2015)
- CB Sam Beal, Giants (Round 3 in 2018)
- CB Adonis Alexander, Redskins (Round 6 in 2018)
A first-round pick hasn’t been used in the supplemental draft since 1992 when the Giants selected Duke quarterback Dave Brown. Ironically, the Giants just spent their first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on a Duke QB in Daniel Jones.
The Redskins have only made two selections in the supplemental draft in Jarmon and Alexander. Jarmon ended up being a bust, logging just 11 tackles and 0.5 sacks in two years of action with the ‘Skins after being a third-round selection. Meanwhile, Alexander only played 11 snaps on defense during his rookie season and mostly played special teams. He totaled four tackles in nine games.
