The NFL Network will be getting a former Redskin on their staff as DeAngelo Hall will be joining the network as an analyst.

DeAngelo wrapped up his 14-year NFL career in 2017 with the Washington Redskins. Hall, who joined the ‘Skins in 2008, recorded 43 picks and five touchdowns in 171 games played during his career. He had 23 interceptions with Washington and was a key leader at corner and later, safety, in their defensive back group.

Now, Hall will be move on to the next adventure in his career. According to multiple reports, Hall is joining the NFL Network as an analyst. He will appear on a variety of shows including NFL Total Access and Good Morning Football.

Here’s what Galen Gordon, NFL Network Vice President, Talent Management Sports said about the hiring of Hall, per A.J. Perez of USA Today.

"DeAngelo is a 14-year NFL veteran who brings a ton of experience to the NFL Media Group. We’re thrilled to have his analysis and expertise on our platforms."

Adding Hall was certainly a good move for the NFL Network. Hall has previous analyst experience with NBC Sports Washington and Fox Sports 1, and he should thrive with NFL Network. He should be able to bring a combination of energy and eloquent analysis to the shows that he is on.

Hall was a well-respected veteran leader and had a very good understanding of how to play in the secondary. That’s why he was able to last for such a long time in the NFL, and it’s also one of the reasons that some advocated for Hall getting into coaching or front office work. But ultimately, he chose TV and instead will educate viewers on the finer points of the secondary. And that seems like a great fit for him, as he will make for a very entertaining and knowledgable TV personality.

For Redskins fans, it will be nice to get a chance to see Hall work prominently in football again. And having a former Redskin as an analyst on a national TV network certainly is nice, as they may get just a little bit more attention. No matter how you look at this, it seems that the NFL Network made a good hire. It will be fun to see what Hall can do as an analyst for the upcoming season.
