The Washington Redskins are lacking depth at linebacker in the wake of Reuben Foster‘s ACL tear. Here are a few trade candidates that they could target to help fill the void.

Reuben Foster suffered the first major injury of the Redskins’ 2019 season when he went down with what is being reported as an ACL tear. Foster suffered the injury on the third play of OTAs and is visiting a specialist to determine the extent of the damage to his knee.

With Foster out, the Redskins are suddenly a bit thin at linebacker. They still have solid players at the position, but they are lacking a proven, three-down linebacker at this point in time.

In all likelihood, the Redskins are going to stick with what they have at the position and maybe look to add another body for depth purposes at the position. They won’t likely find a true three-down starter to replace Foster, so they will have to utilize a committee approach to fill the snaps next to Shaun Dion Hamilton. They do have some potential-packed players, like Josh Harvey-Clemons and rookie Cole Holcomb, in the linebacker corps, so they might be able to find a decent enough system to replace Foster.

However, the ‘Skins should still explore avenues to potentially add another linebacker to the roster. There could be some interesting trade candidates available if the team isn’t content with how their linebackers progress in the offseason, and here’s a look at three guys that could add depth and be role players for the Washington defense.
