It seems that every year, successful NFL teams are able to land diamonds in the rough during undrafted free agency. Here are a few that could make the Redskins roster.

Every year, solid NFL teams are able to find players in undrafted free agency that can make an impact on the team or at least add depth to the roster. Over the course of the past few years, the Washington Redskins have done a good job of stockpiling depth players in undrafted free agency.

Last year, the team landed Southern corner Danny Johnson and wide receivers Simmie Cobbs and Cam Sims. Johnson made the ‘Skins’ 53-man roster while Cobbs and Sims both shined in the preseason. Ultimately, Cobbs ended up on the New Orleans Saints as a depth player and Sims is expected to have a chance to emerge as a depth option for the Redskins in 2019.

In addition to these players, guys like Deshazor Everett, Rob Kelley, Tyler Catalina, and Cassanova McKinzy have found their way onto the roster. Are any starter material? No. But they all provide good organizational depth, especially Everett, who has been a very solid backup safety for the team.

This year’s undrafted free agent class is comparatively small for Washington. The 2019 NFL Draft class was considered to be a bit weaker talent-wise compared to the classes surrounding it, so that could explain why they only brought in eight undrafted players. They may add more to their roster in the future, but for the time being, these are the guys that will have a chance to compete for a spot on the team.

With that said, here’s a look at the three undrafted players with the best chance of making the final roster.
