2019 NFL Mock Draft 8.0: Redskins land top quarterback, Raiders make surprise pick
This pick would make a lot of sense. The Buccaneers lost former LSU linebacker Kwon Alexander in free agency. They need a replacement for him next to Lavonte David, and Devin White would be a good fit.
White is a truly elite defender in this class and he has a great skill set. He’s athletic and can run sideline to sideline and make stops, as evidenced by his 256 tackles and 7.5 sacks over the course of the past two seasons. White would be a great replacement for Alexander and would help Bruce Arians and Todd Bowles to reshape their defense.
Also, it’s worth noting that the Bucs have shown a penchant for drafting LSU linebackers. They spent a mid-round pick on Alexander and also drafted Kendall Beckwith in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. That was under a different regime, but it’s still worth noting.
Other Buccaneers Draft Options
DL Ed Oliver, Houston. Oliver would be the other defensive line option to consider if he’s on the board, and he could fit well next to Vita Vea as a long-term replacement for Gerald McCoy.
EDGE Josh Allen, Kentucky. Allen is the best pass rusher on the board and the Buccaneers could use help at the position. They will give him strong consideration to continue to upgrade their defense.
