Here’s the first surprise pick of this mock. After the Raiders sent all of their scouts home in order to have secrecy in the draft room, there is speculation that they could take many different players.

With Quinnen Williams off the board here, many would assume that the Raiders would want to take Josh Allen. After all, Allen had 17 sacks last year which is more than the Raiders had as a team last season. Yeah, let that stat sink in.

Still, the Raiders could opt to take a different kind of pressure generator, the highly athletic Ed Oliver. Oliver should be able to play anywhere on a defensive front and he has a quick first step. While he only had three sacks last season, he could end up being a better pressure generator at the pro level. Grabbing Oliver here and targeting a falling edge player with one of their other first-round picks makes sense.

Of course, the Raiders could also shock everyone and take a guy like Dwayne Haskins. They were rumored to like the Ohio State quarterback early in the draft process, so they may opt to target him here if they think he’s a better long-term fit than Derek Carr.

Other Raiders Draft Options

DL Quinnen Williams, Alabama. Williams won’t get past the Raiders here, barring a surprise.

EDGE Josh Allen, Kentucky. Allen is the best player available at a position of need, so he can’t be counted out.

LB Devin White, LSU. White has earned some buzz here as well and I almost mocked him here with the pick.

QB Kyler Murray, Oklahoma. If Arizona doesn’t get Murray, the Raiders will. Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden like his skill set, so they could settle on him with the fourth pick if Arizona goes in a different direction.

QB Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State. As mentioned earlier, Haskins could be the ultimate surprise here, and it would explain why the Redskins reportedly have interest in moving up to the No. 3 pick.
