Josh Jacobs. 27. player. 28. . Running Back. Alabama

Marshawn Lynch has officially retired. Doug Martin remains a free agent. The Raiders need a running back. Jon Gruden likes having physical, nasty runners on his roster to carry his offense, and Josh Jacobs qualifies.

Jacobs didn’t handle a big workload at Alabama — just 299 touches in three years with the team — but last year, he showed playmaking ability and physicality. He totaled 14 touchdowns on just 140 total touches and ran with a mean streak, generating power and gutting out extra yards consistently. The Raiders will target a running back early, and Jacobs makes sense here.

If the Raiders don’t pick Jacobs here, I can’t imagine that he would get past the 35th pick in Round 2, which is also owned by the Raiders.

Other Raiders Draft Options

WR Marquise Brown, Oklahoma. The Raiders could look to continue to add dynamic weapons to their offense, and they will probably have an interest in Marquise “Hollywood” Brown with one of their late first-round picks.

CB Greedy Williams, LSU. Williams could pique Jon Gruden’s interest, but he should be able to land either Rock Ya-Sin or Deandre Baker in Round 2.
