Pre-draft visits are winding down, but the Washington Redskins have a couple of early-round picks in for a visit on Tuesday, quarterback Will Grier and receiver Parris Campbell.

The Washington Redskins are certainly looking to upgrade their offense in the 2019 NFL Draft. They have done a lot of work on the top prospects at the quarterback position, and they are going to add some receiving talent as well.

Thus, it’s no surprise that the team is hosting a couple of potential early draft picks at both positions on Tuesday.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Redskins are hosting West Virginia quarterback Will Grier and Ohio State wide receiver Parris Campbell for visits on Tuesday. Both could garner consideration for the Redskins on Day 2 of the draft, and specifically in the second round.

Grier has been tied to the Redskins quite a bit during the pre-draft process, and it seems that he may be their top target if the team avoids a first-round quarterback. Grier doesn’t have the best arm strength, but he has a gunslinger’s mentality and made some pretty impressive throws at West Virginia. If he can improve his consistency and accuracy, there’s a chance that he could pan out at the NFL level. He has the tools needed to be a successful starting quarterback, he just needs to maximize them.

As for Campbell, he’s an intriguing threat as a versatile speed demon. He can do a lot with the ball in his hands, take the top off the defense, and find spaces against zone defenses and make men miss. I have Campbell listed as the sixth option on my wide receiver big board, and I said the following about the Redskins’ potential interest in him

"The Redskins should absolutely have interest in Campbell if he somehow makes it to their Round 2 pick. He has dynamic playmaking ability, something that the offense is lacking, and he would provide insurance if Richardson can’t stay healthy. And if Richardson is healthy, the team would have two deep-threat wideouts that will make it hard to matchup with them."

That said, Campbell has a fairly wide draft range, so it’s possible that he won’t make it to the Redskins’ pick in the second round. He could sneak into the back-end of the first round if teams are looking for a speed threat at the receiver position.

Both of these workouts are good moves for the ‘Skins. They can better assess their top Day 2 options and look to improve their offense if either of these players is on the board and impresses them. Soon enough, we’ll see what Washington plans on doing in the 2019 NFL Draft.
