player. 28. . Edge Rusher. Kentucky. Josh Allen. 4

If only the Raiders had a true impact player on the edge to get a lot of sacks and put relentless pressure on quarterbacks. Oh wait, they did have one of those? And they traded him? Well, that’s a shame.

Last year, the Raiders ranked dead last in the NFL with 13 sacks. That was 17 less than the team with the next lowest total. So, needless to say, that is pretty awful.

Thankfully for the Raiders, this draft is loaded on the defensive line. They will have a chance to land a top edge prospect with the No. 4 pick. And in this mock, Josh Allen qualifies.

Allen could have declared for last year’s draft, but at the risk of having two Josh Allens in the same class, he decided to go back to school. In all seriousness, while at school, Allen significantly improved and was part of an upstart Kentucky defense that helped carry the team to their first significant success in years.

Allen had an insane 17 sacks last season and he has a good pass rushing skill set for the next level. He doesn’t have great athleticism, but he has an understanding of how to win at the point of attack. That should cement him as a top-10 pick, and the Raiders would love to have him.
