Report: Redskins working out Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins this week
The Washington Redskins are continuing to do work on quarterbacks. This week, Dwayne Haskins is reportedly coming to visit their facility.
To nobody’s surprise, the Redskins are working out another quarterback prospect. This week, they are bringing in Dwayne Haskins for a visit, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Haskins is considered to be one of the top quarterbacks in this draft class and Washington could have an interest in selecting him in the first round.
Haskins has long been considered a favorite to go in the top 10, but recently, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has indicated that NFL teams may not be as high on Haskins. That has created some speculation that he could fall to the Redskins’ pick at 15, but that may be difficult. Quarterbacks tend to rise in the pre-draft process, so more likely than not, the Redskins would have to trade up to get Haskins if they decide they want him.
Our own Ian Cummings recently ranked Haskins as the third overall quarterback on his QB big board but had mixed feelings about the passer. Here’s what he said about Haskins in that piece.

"Haskins, mentally, is adept, and he’s already an expert when it comes to dissecting the short and intermediate ranges. His accuracy is very good from zero to ten yards, and as a distributor, he can lead a team to victory, and keep the offense efficient and on-schedule.When things go off-schedule, however, Haskins isn’t nearly as surgical. His accuracy is less consistent further down the field, and while he occasionally drops good deep passes, he doesn’t have the arm strength to drive the ball past deep coverage. As a result, he pushes such passes, and lacks consistent accuracy in those situations."
Haskins does have talent, but he is still a work in progress. Let’s not forget that he was just a one-year starter, so he could need to grow a bit. If he shows well in the workout, however, the Redskins will definitely consider him with their first-round selection.
It will be interesting to see if Haskins piques the interest of the ‘Skins. They seem to be working out every quarterback imaginable ahead of the draft, so Haskins has to be considered as a possibility. But where the team ranks him value-wise compared to Drew Lock, Daniel Jones, Will Grier, and others will certainly be something to watch.
