LSU. Greedy Williams. 23. player. 10. . Cornerback

Ian: I mocked Greedy Williams to the Houston Texans in my last full NFL mock, and in this scenario, the fit just feels too good to pass up.

The Texans need offensive line help. They always need offensive line help. But after free agency, they’re in need of cornerbacks as well, having lost both Kareem Jackson and Kevin Johnson. On top of that, Johnathan Joseph is 34 years old. Covering receivers is kind of important in the modern NFL, and the Texans are in danger of being unable to do that.

Thus, when a prospect with as much upside as Greedy Williams falls to pick No. 23, it’s hard to look away.

Williams had some downsides as a prospect; he’s not a willing tackler, and he can have trouble turning his head at times. But he has an enticing combination of length and athleticism, and with a little development, he can be a true No. 1 cornerback.
