Jacob: I considered a couple of receiver options here, but I ultimately settled on Parris Campbell as the pick here for the Ravens. That may be a surprise to some, and it certainly is a reach. That said, Campbell would make sense for the Ravens.

Lamar Jackson has a big arm. In many ways, he is reminiscent of Michael Vick. However, despite his arm strength, Jackson never developed a rapport with receiver John Brown, who was the top deep threat for the Ravens last year. Brown joined the Bills in the offseason, so the Ravens will need to find a replacement for him who could have better chemistry with Jackson.

Campbell’s stock is steadily rising. He has a dynamic performance at the combine where his 4.31 time in the 40-yard dash tied for the best during the combine with Andy Isabella. Campbell also looked good on the field and did a lot to earn a stock up.

More from Commanders Draft News

Campbell essentially backed up what many saw on tape in 2018. Campbell is a true burner that could be a dynamic playmaking threat at the next level. He was a favorite target of Dwayne Haskins, and he grabbed 90 passes for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns. There are so many ways that he could be utilized in the Ravens’ run-heavy offense on jet sweeps and off play action, so he could be intriguing enough for Eric DeCosta to pull the trigger on him here.

If the Ravens want a different type of receiver, they could target Ole Miss’ A.J. Brown, a possession-based slot receiver with decent athleticism and inside/outside ability. However, they could also opt to target another Brown in Marquise “Hollywood” Brown if they like his big-play ability more than Campbell’s.
