26. . Wide Receiver. Ole Miss. A.J. Brown. 22. player

I’ve had the Ravens taking a running back here in each of my first two mocks. Josh Jacobs from Alabama was the guy, but I think they may lean towards a receiver here at the moment. They should be in position to add a quality guy on Day 2 to pair with Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon.

The Ravens’ need for a receiver is pretty obvious. John Brown is a free agent, and he didn’t seem to click with Lamar Jackson last year. Michael Crabtree was cut. The team only has Willie Snead available as a solid starter, and even if they use two tight end sets quite a bit, they will need to add a potential No. 1 receiver.

A.J. Brown would fit the bill. Brown had a nice showing at the combine, running a 4.5 in the 40 and looking good in the on-field drills. His teammate D.K. Metcalf may be getting more attention than him, but Brown is a great route runner and will have inside/outside versatility as he can play in the slot.

Brown would give Jackson a young target who will have a chance to emerge as a No. 1 receiver. It’s also notable that Brown had over 1,250 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons despite playing with Metcalf and potential Day 2 pick DaMarkus Lodge. With a higher volume of targets, there’s no telling what he could do.

Either way, Baltimore should add to their skill positions with this pick. Whether it’s a receiver like Brown or a back like Jacobs, they will look to improve their offense as they try to build around Jackson’s dynamic playmaking ability.
