21. player. 36. . Tight End. Iowa. Noah Fant

Speaking of the Seahawks, they are going to be looking to add athletic players to their team. They need help in the secondary and in the trenches on both sides of the ball. However, Noah Fant simply may be too good of a prospect for them to pass on at this point.

Fant was one of the stars at the combine, and he highlighted one of the better position groups, the tight ends. Fant clocked the group’s fastest 40 time at 4.5-flat and was the only tight end to record a sub-seven second in the 3-cone drills. Even more impressive, that sub-seven time was a 6.81.

Fant has very good agility, speed, and pass-catching ability, and it all shows up on tape. He’s just about as well rounded as his teammate, T.J. Hockenson. The only reason that Hockenson is going before him is that he’s a better blocker than Fant.

Still, Fant should have a chance to be a top starter at tight end in short order. He caught 18 touchdowns in his final two years at Iowa, so he should have a chance to be a red-zone threat thanks to his solid agility, route running, and height (6-4).

With the Seahawks, Fant would take over for Will Dissly and Nick Vannett at the tight end position. Dissly looked like a potential solid starter before hurting his patellar tendon. That injury is notably hard to come back from. Meanwhile, Vannett didn’t do much in his stead, but Fant could develop into a true red-zone target that the team lacked after Jimmy Graham’s departure last year.
